what is the travel time on Laos hiway 9

How is the road from savannakhet to the vietnamese border. I will be traveling on a 120cc yahama. Any problems that I should be aware of and will I have any problems getting the bike across the river and thru customs at savannakhet? thanks. l.v.
 
Highway 9 should be all asphalt.
BobS was out there last year & should be able to give you some more info, including travel times.

To get your bike across the Mekong River you need to put it in a boat, get on one of the big vehicle ferries that go over.

If the bike is in your name should be no trouble to get out of Thailand / into Laos.
