Wtb - Motorcycle With Viet Plates In Bangkok

This might be a long shot but I am looking to buy a motorcycle with Vietnam plates on it.

Buying and registering a motorcycle in Thailand with out a residence papers is too much work.

I am hoping that someone will have a viet plated motorcycle I can buy off them. I can transfer it to my name then ride it to Vietnam.

Hi, Might be worth looking on other travellers sites. I bought a Viet registered scooter from a traveller and rode it back to Vietnam . You do not need to change it into your name, ( I doubt if you could do it outside of Vietnam anyway ), but you do need the original customs import paper that it came into Thailand with and also the Vietnamese registration card for the bike. The Thai customs don't care who takes it out as long as the bike leaves and is not "overstay". In Vietnam ownerships is by holding the original card , very few sellers there actually change the name over as it is easier (and cheaper) just to leave it. It is accepted practice there. Good luck.
