With the Africa Twin way over 200kg this might be a better option for northern Thailand and Laos.

I doubt it will be significantly lighter than the AT. The MT 07 which have the same engine as the T7 is 182 kilos wet. An adventure bike with the same engine will be more than that...

There’s plenty of Internet sites claiming to have new information about the Yamaha Ténéré 700/T7 but the fact is there nothing more than media releases from Yamaha. Apart from rumours there seems to be no real facts on specifications, or a time frame for when it will be released. Basically, Yamaha is just dangling carrot in front of potential buyers that are looking for an adventure bike that's Japanese made. They may think it's a great marketing ploy, but the way I see it, it's pissing a lot of people off.

Just give us the facts without the glossy BS.

Concept, Prototype, Project, Blah Blah Blah. I simply want to know how heavy its going to be, and when can I walk into a shop without one, and then ride away on one.

Yamaha have now have a designated site for theYamaha Ténéré 700/T7
www.World-Raid.com

Few good photos here.

Teaser video from Yamaha released a few days ago.

Reports saying the Tenere 700 will be unveiled at the Toyko motor show in October or eimca motor show in Milan in November.

The new KTM 790 when realised will be real competition but not sure that they have good network in Thailand but should be a really good bike with Ktm background

It looks like the T7 will be released in Europe mid 2019, and some say that bike will be made in France.
Australia and New Zealand will get the T7 late 2019.
America will have to wait until late 2020.
Non European bikes made in Japan.

Fantastic Looking Bike and I see it uses the Pirelli Scorpion Trail Rally STR Tires designed for the Ducati Desert Sled! Unfortunately it is Heavier and Less Powerful than the Ducati and even more Disturbing is We are still waiting for it!!! How could Yamaha get everything so wrong with such a Brilliant Concept! This Eternal Wait they have put everyone through after Teasing this thing Years ago will hurt sales and when it is finally released it will already be outdated and the Competition will be offering something on par or better!

In Germany the price is 9.299 Euro which is around 340.000 THB.
I guess the problem is, that the bikes are produced in france, so probably it will be fully taxed. So I am not sure whether it will come to thailand. Even that would be a shame, as it fits perfect for northern thailand.

And here We are 2 Years after Oddvar's original Post and this Bike is No Closer to Thailand! A Sad story of missing the Boat I think? By the Time it turns up KTM may have their act together here in Thailand and the 790 Adventure could be here?

I have read the North American model will be made in Japan, so if that's true some hope that the Japan built bike could make it here...North America due to get the T7 2020.

Were I in the market for an Adventure Bike, I think the Tenere 700 would tick most of my boxes (except, perhaps, fuel capacity). The reports I've seen so far have been positive, particularly regards competitive pricing.

Really keen on these and will be in the market for a new bike next year, lets hope they come to Thailand and are not stupidly priced as it will likely be one of these or an Africa twin.

I'm trying to convince a mate I work with in KL that he should swap his MT-07 for one... then he can let me ride it (I haven't told him that part, yet).
