There was obviously panic buying in the top North this afternoon.

After a Panor brunch I had an empty tank - 20 kms left - and needed to fuel up.
Getting fuel was actually a challenge. 1 Gas station had closed - run out, another one had an empty bowser, most others had long queues of vehicles lined up to fuel up.

From what I could see PT & Bangchak gas stations were under pressure.

I got some fuel at a Caltex, but had a 20 minute wait in the queue.

The coming days and weeks could be seriously challenging.

The panic buying depleting fuel stock at multiple gas stations has seen PTT issue a notice to all PTT petrol station NOT to fill fuel containers, but only vehicle fuel tanks.

Yesterday early evening the Khao Lak PTT was closed, with a sign "We are out of gas. Come back tomorrow morning." So went there at 05:45 for the 06:00 opening. Long orderly queues had been formed. At 06:35 my tank was full, and the queue was half as long.

I arrived under a full moon and watched the sun rise at the PTT. A new experience.

On Koh Yao Yai the Bangchak was out of gas. But the small shops and automats were still open. I still had half a tank, but that's refueling time these days.

Hi @Richard Toh
How is the fuel situation on your trip?
Thanks ADV for the pointer, Hope it will be better come end December where I`ll be driving up north from Singapore.

Last spoke to Richard this morning, he is already in China as we speak, fuel is sure getting expensive, but no shortage seen in China side.

Good to hear the update... Yes, hopefully by December!

Thoed Thai and Mae Chan were completely out of 91, 95 and diesel by yesterday evening.

I had to ride towards Chiang Rai, getting 95 gasohol (5-10%  ethanol) at PTT Mae Fah Luang

Bulk deliveries seem sketchy in all but the very prime stations.

The large PTT next to Bandu Police Station on the Chiang Rai bypass seems to be an oasis of petrol for the moment with no queues or restrictions. Its become my stress free fill up point now when I'm riding in that direction.

Today I had to ride Mae Sai to Chai Prakan and back, a 312km round trip.

In that distance there were only two petrol stations open on the way there. One had run out on the return trip.

On the return trip only one petrol station had fuel, 97, so I had to fill up with that.

It's pretty dire now. I didn't see any bulk fuel tankers on the roads so no clue as to when the stations will get resupplied.

Looking at the last update time for stations on this site and my experience looking for fuel today, its very very dry. So many vehicles out hunting for a refill and drawing away with nothing.
