The last Wednesday of the month in August is Wednesday 29 August 2018.
The designated rendezvous town is.....Mae Chan, the centre of the top North, but always overlooked because we are on our way to / from Chiang Rai, Mae Sai, Chiang Saen, the Golden Triangle, Doi Mae Salong or Tha Ton..++

Ian Yonok highly recommends a Mexican restaurant there, run by a genuine Mexican with top notch Mexican food.
More info to come as we gather some ideas.

Well, well, well.... that's certainly laying down the gauntlet...

I for one am up to the challenge - and authentic Mexican food is high on my list of "Preferred Grazing" options...
- therefore me, myself and I will be there on the appointed day

I'd anticipate some minor night life near or around the Rim Chan resort hotel.

Mae Chan - Wednesday 28th August 2018.

Another memorable night, despite some considerable uncertainty and a hiccup in the transport to the dinner venue.
I got away late from Chiang Khong so it was a quick blast over the mountains to Chiang Saen, then down the 4-lane to Mae Chan.
I was late of course.

Ian & Ben were on time of course!

Some guys were already at the Mexican & some still drinking at the Rim Chan happy hour.
The Rim Chan wasn't the best for organizing a vehicle to run Bungy & Co down to the restaurant, so I arranged a pick up from the next door massage shop to move the guys 3 kms down the road for 300 baht.

The Mexican

I had no complaints about the food, but not everyone agred on how good it was. Just like pizzas perhaps?

A "strange looking" Mexican dish that I tried only because I was intrigued on how it was listed on the menu.

and it was different!

With dinner out the way it was back to the hotel courtesy of the massage pick up & an "enchanting evening" in the Rim Chan Pub.

Thanks to all the guys who turned up. Mae Chan is now discovered & on the map.
Apologies for the slow report, Ive only just returned to base in Chiang Khong.

The next date & venue the last Wednesday of the month in September is Phrae (to avoid complaints about no night life) on Wednesday 26 September 2018.
