Right, let's get this thread back on track! Something like this, updated with the CBR engine, would be what many local riders are looking for:

No news yet if the CRF250L will be available in Thailand.

Whatever happened to the "XR" designation?
Since this bike doesn't share much with the high-performance CRF250 but is a low-powered Enduro, it should be a "XR250L".

But whatever it's called, it's a good-looking bike, has around 22hp and should sell for a way better price than the KLX250!

No news on the price yet, I guess. Couldn't be much more than the street version, probably the same. Less plastic but upside down forks.

Who are the three hitchhikers?

I think it should range in the CBR 250 pricing, theres a USD fork but less fairings :)

Too bad they dont release a motard version tho.

From left are Chiaki Kato, AP Honda’s president; Annop Phornprapha, a vice-president of Thai Honda Manufacturing; and Suchart Arunsaengroj, AP Honda’s general manager for sales.

You would think they would just hop in the Honda stretch limo outside.....

I'd imagine the price will be somewhere between 99,000thb and 110,000thb.

Those forks would look good on my CBR. :D

I see no good reason for it to be less expensive than the CBR, after all the Ninja 250 sells for cheaper than the KLX.....

We will know soon enough anyway :)

Some more pics I have found of the release show. Seems they were showing 2 bikes, one standard and one blinged up. I hope the parts are available here also...

Good job, bung!

Actually the tires are too off-road oriented for my taste - I wonder if any 80/20 tires exist for those rims.

I'm waiting for the thread: "Can I fit CBR wheels onto my CRF?"

I think the rim sizes would be the same as the KLX? Everyone recckons the standard KLX tyres are the best compromise on and off road. You wouldn't have much fun riding on the road on those MX type tyres but it looks better for the pictures...Not sure if those black rims are wider though, stock looks pretty skinny.

Any idea where all the Honda dealers are that might sell this bike?? Will it only be available in BKK or will the upcountry dealers that sell Honda scooters have all the range available ? If not on display then maybe by order? Any one have some inside knowledge or talked to any dealers? Any info welcome.

The last info I got was it will be released in march, in Chiang Mai the CBR 250 were there almost at the same time as in other parts of the country.

Right, you should be able to order one and get parts for it at any Honda dealership.

Professional service is another thing, but it shouldn't need much besides oil changes, brake pads and tires for quite some time.

Maybe have the valves adjusted at a dealer in the next big city.

Pics I´ve seen enough. I like know more about the bike. Plastic tank?, Would be great. Aloy handle bar? I hope, the right CRF 250 has it. Airfilter? Easy work or the same shit than in the KLX. What was it a pleasure in the old XR days. Wheelbase, clearance, suspensions? And the big ? the overall weight. Based on the fat monster CBR is a shock. Every kg more than max. 140 and that´s really shit allready is not exeptable.

I could see some more!
Sure, some specs would be interesting, especially the weight. Since the CRF is based on the CBR which is listed with 360 pounds/165 kg I don't expect it to be as light as the KLX.
Suspension travel? Also changes in the engine, less hp, more torque? Gearing, lower top speed?
I've noticed that the headlight fairing functions a bit like a bikini fairing - is the bike street oriented?

Then again we can't expect a super-light, super capable bike for a low price. Even if lags 20% behind the Kawasaki in every aspect, which it doesn't in the engine department, it'll be worth the price of admission. Also: It's a Honda! I bet you'll see more CRFs on the road in one year than Kawasaki sold in two.

That hasn't really been the case with the Honda CB'r' 250 that shares the same engine...
