It was a lot of fun. We all really enjoyed the "300 Band", too

The event this year coincided with a running event across the FB4 Friendship Bridge, through Houei Xai city & back to Chiang Khong on the ferry - if you were Thai.

Sponsorship for the event came from a UN Agency in BKk UNFPA promoting awareness of gender-based violence & abuse of women.

They were successful in getting their message across.

Some images from the show underway & the happy crowds attending, soaking up the atmosphere.

The Tha Pha Tan venue really is a super spot & it's very pleasing to see Chiang Khong city finally making proper use of the location.

The Hug Chiang Rai band were the first on stage to set the mood for a wonderful enjoyable night.

Their mixture of music was a perfect start to the night.

The old GTR fellah was sufficiently impressed that he wishes to follow the band in Chiang Rai city & listen to them play again.

The Clumsy Strangers were band # 2.

3 farang out of Chiang Rai playing enjoyable, entertaining pub music.

They succeeded in warming up the crowd.

We look forward to Clumsy Strangers entertaining the crowd again in 2024.

The very popular 300-Band really got things moving with their mix of Thai & farang songs.

Chiang Rai residents may know the singer Kate, from Okane's Pub & Chill Music pubs in Chiang Rai city.
She is a great entertainer & really knows how to get the crowd fired up & dancing.

Highlight band for the night was the Midnight Ramblers band from Bangkok, playing 100% Rolling Stones to rock until the end of the night.

And that was the end to a great night with brilliant music & entertainment by the Mekong.
The CK Nai Amphur & TAT Chiang Rai, were sufficiently impressed to proclaim we can do it again in 2024, with a bigger budget available, for the 2023 event was done on a shoe string.
