Anyone tried to do Luang Prabang to Nan, Thailand?

If so, how did you go? Were you able to cross into Thailand at Huai Kon?

This border is not an international crossing, normally open to foreigners.

You can only cross with special permission - prior approval in writing from Vientiane.
