I just bought a R-1150-RT and will be needing the 10K km service soon.

Does BMW Chiangmai have a knowledgable bike mechanic, or is there someone else in CM?

I could do the work myself but do not have the foggiest about the ABS brakes, and the service manual is a bit lacking in detail.

V V P Automobiles is the official BMW dealer in Chiang Mai.
402 Chiang Mai - Lampang Road, T.Faham, Chiang Mai

    Tel: 053-306 472-6

Never tried them but they will keep your bike in warranty I am told. You can get more info if you go to the website www.bmw.co.th

It is an 05 and I am the second owner so presumably the warranty is over?

My concern is quality of work, and mechanics who do not use bent screwdrivers etc.

David Lek is the Chiang Mai Expert on all things Great and Small. He gets a good amount of Work from Locals Word of Mouth but i am sure he can fit in a Service for you. Try calling Him at: 0857140025. Sorry David if i wasn't supposed to give out your Number?
    Cheers Ian.

Bike mechanic at VPP is okay, never had any problems with that side of things.
