Found a great bike spares shop, right next to the old Clocktower at the big market in Chiang Rai city centre on Suksathit Road.
Cant remember the shop name, but it has been in business there for about 25 years. They have a good stock of tyres, batteries and chains. The owner's son went to Aston University in Birmingham, England and speaks great English, almost with a Brummie accent....
I bought a 428 primary chain and 530 final drive chain there. Prices cheaper than smaller shops.
This was their chain shelf...... hundreds of chains...
