Importing a bike to UK from Thailand

Anyone know what the score would be about shipping a bike over to England from Thailand - how much hassle it would be, what sort of costs etc.

I'm going to be doing a lot of riding around the congested streets of London for the next couple of years or so and a Honda Wave would be perfect but the UK version which is called a Honda Innova costs about £1800 new, over twice as much as a Wave does in Thailand I believe.

Aboutbuy for 40,000 baht (£700) £400 to ship/handling charges then UK import Tax and VAT add 27% so far = £1400 then you need to get single bike Homologation and registration could cost another £400 + a load of running around, better to buy it from a dealer in UK with warranty.
