  1. I just taken delievery of a Versys 1000...the tank label spells out unleaded Ron95 and above.
So that would rule out completely the Gasahol in LOS? Can anyone verify for me from Kawasaki Thailand? You have the Versys 650 there...

Congrats on your new Versys 1000! What a bike! Unfortunately there are no plans for Kawasaki, Thailand to sell it here any time soon...

The Versys 650 runs just fine on 91 octane E10 Gasohol. To be honest I'm not sure which octane rating system is in use here in Thailand.

I'm quite certain the Versys 1000 can run on E10 gasohol and it's not hard to find 95 octane E10 gasohol in Thailand.

Kawasaki, Thailand sells the Z1000 here and it has the same engine as the Versys 1000 and runs on E10 Gasohol 95.

Congrats again on your new bike! I'm VERY interested to hear what you think of it once you've had her for a while.

    Happy Trails!

Thailand uses the European RON octane rating not the USA MON system ,it will run fine on 95 Gasohol but once in a while regular 95 should be used to keep the fuel system clean , it has a steel tank so it wont warp like plastic tanks can.in emergency 91 gasohol will work but the bike will run a little lean .
  5. thanks guys! I never had prob with my other bike...a '92 Africa Twin.

I just returned from Gary's old haunt in the bordello town of Betong :) And keeping with recommended 4000rpm, its a rather boring ride. I can feel the surge at each traffic light. The frisky torque is there... but I am now just under 200clicks from the 1st service...will make a report after that.

    Again cheers.

Your Versys 1000 is powered by the same lump that's in the Z1000 so yeah, from all the good things I've heard about the Z1000 I bet your Versys 1k pulls HARD! :smile1:
