  1. Sad news indeed today...Local expat Norwegian John Olsen was killed in an accident with a truck, 15 kms North Of Mae Hong Son.

John was heading home on his Honda CRF250 at the time after doing the Wat Chan - Huai Pu Ling - Mae Hong trail the day before.

He was a very lively happy go lucky fellow & his beaming smile will be missed by many.

Our thoughts & sympathy go to his wife in Chiang Mai, plus his family back home.

  18. Just a quick update, John's family have requested that his body be returned to Norway for burial & funeral.

At the moment his body is on the way back from Mae Hong Son.

All being well there will be a funeral service for John at a Wat in Mae Rim somewhere tomorrow night - Thursday 16th May, starting at 7PM?

As soon as we have details they will be posted here, or you will receive a message from Bungy at the X-Centre.

    Thank you.

  23. There will be a memorial dinner for John next Monday 12th May 2014, at See Paak Restaurant in Mae Rim.

    Starting time from 7.30PM.

John's favourite dish there was a sausage meal & I understand that Radek at See Paak is interested in putting on a special for the night.

  24. Much missed and I will be there

  25. Radek will also play some of John's favourite music on the night.
For the sausage special meals he needs to know by Friday 9th May 2014.
