Rogelio's Mexican restaurant in Mae Chan. Right on highway 1 next to Mae Chan Hospital.
It's been open about 6 months and serves real Mexican food, as Rogelio is a real Mexican chef.
With his Thai wife, they lived in the US for a long time.

The food is super fresh, as Rogelio makes his own sour cream and fresh torillas etc. In fact all the food is freshly made on the premises by him.

Closed on a Sunday and they don't have an alcohol licence yet. I have been twice in a few days, even though it's a 60klm round trip. Highly recommended and fair prices. Great to eat this cuisine made fresh and you can really taste that freshness.

The Tortilla Bites have become a favourite there. Perfect large mouthfuls of fresh home made tortillas with beef and beans etc filling. Delicious....

A gem of a small, cosy, home restaurant.

I was staggered by the menu and cheap prices.

And there's a page two!

The owmer chef has worked at 5-star hotels in Pattaya. Phuket and Bangkok for decades.

No alcohol sold on the premises, but my date was clever enough to contact Grab to deliver some beverages while we were waiting for our food.

The old gtr fellah had a salmon steak with pumpkin sauce. Something I never expected in the wilds of Mae Chan city!

I also weakened for some Italian cheese bread for Luca @ 129 baht.

Also of note is that the owner chef's wife is from Phayaphrai and they both generally go to all the ethnic festivals out there.
They have a car but prefer to each ride out on their motorbikes!
A truly wonderful friendly couple who conduct their business with passion and lots of TLC.
Swing by often and support them anytime after 11am, with the kitchen closing at 8.30pm.
