Need advise for our second day

Hi Guys,
like many of you ( i guess) we preparing our 7 days ride first week on Dec. We pretty much set our itinerary but we have a prospective boring day from Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai. The road suppose to be all straight and is what we don't like. After Cmai we ride to Pai by loop and we back in bangkok by west roads. Any suggestion for beautiful road and landscape? No necessary we have to sleep in Cmai, can be Lampang or any place at 100 k range.

Head for Saraburi and up to Petchabun on the 21. Then from Lom Sak to P'lok on the 12 (great hill riding), up past Uttaradit on the 11 to Den Chai and in to Lampang and Chiang Mai. Plenty of places sell good Thai road maps nowadays..... look for the PN Map Company maps..... they're very good.

Be advised that the road from CM to Pai is in very rough shape.
