Recently got a 2001 XJR1300 + cash for my Ninja and very happy! Can't believe how easy it is to ride, so much nicer than my previous bikes (CBR250R, Versys, Ninja 650R). Only 26,xxxKMs and read that these engines are very long-lasting so plenty left in it. Engine sounds awesome, I thought I'd add an aftermarket exhaust but not so sure now, it already has titanium headers and a titanium pipe off a 2003 R1 so will stick with that as not too loud.

Brakes are good but front will need replacing soon so have some EBC HH on the way. Pirelli Angel St tyres are very nice, seem much better than the Bridgestone BT021s that were on my Ninja, and the fully adjustable Ohlins suspension is very comfortable. I love the naked retro look and the torque is amazing, will pull from 40kph in 5th to 160kph+ in no time at all.

No book but invoice and 3% excise tax paid which means very few, if any, problems up here in Chiang Rai. Most of the guys I sometimes ride with (R1, Ducati 1098, ZX10, CBR1000, SuperFour, Triumph 955) don't have green books and said mai pen rai, a couple are police too!

Thanks, I've heard of some folk getting 150,000-200,000kms out of these with just normal servicing! Everything about it is quality; The brakes, gear change, steering, suspension etc is much better than on the Versys and Ninja I had and it's a 10yr old bike! I'd narrowed my choice down to a 2005 Z1000, KTM 690SM, Honda 900 Hornet, R6, CB1300 or this, I'm sure I'd have been happy with any but loving the XJR for now.
