From the Don Som ferry pier, we rode our bikes on the dusty trails along the Mekong River Banks. Please do not follow the trails on google map as they are wrong.

Nice one. Beautiful photos of that area - the 4000 Islands are really something special & worthy of some island hopping.

This shot is fabulous

Doesn't it amaze you down there, how clear the water is & how you can see all the fish swimming in the Mekong. Simply stunning.
Do you ever think you could live down there in that wetlands paradise? I sometimes think about it. Just a year to see how the the seasons go!

Where do you enter Laos?
Did you have any trouble getting in?

Thanks for a fabulous report - some nice info there that you have shared.

We entered Laos via Chong Mek/Vangtao border crossing. No issues at all. Always as ever friendly Laotian immigration and customs.

Wished I could have stayed longer in Si Phan Don. Perhaps do some community works for the schools

Great repot Razzie, the 4000 islands are one of the best places in Laos that for sure.

What bikes are you riding?
