Planning A 9 Day Trip Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai,mhs

Hi guys,

I'm planning a 9 day trip from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. The approx route is planned to be:

Chiang Mai, Nan, Phayao, Chiang Rai, Fang, Pai, MHS loop back to Chiang Mai.

There will be 2 bikes, 650 Vstrom. I've done this area a few times before, but never been to NAN.

I would be interested in any road tips or alternative areas anyone has to offer.

Currently my first day is planned as such. I hope to build a google map for each day in advance.

Theres so many roads and places that could be advised. What about R118+120+1091 from Chiang Mai to Nan on day 1? Then a detour from Nan up to Bo Kleua and Muang Ngeun on R1081, then the R101 to Ta Wang Pa and hit the 1148 to Chiang Kham and R1021 to Phayao on day 2?
Phayao to Phu Chi Fa on R1021 and R1093, further to Chiang Khong on R1155, further to Golden Triangle on R1290 and R1 to Chiang Rai on day 3?
Chiang Rai to Mae Sai on R1, then R1149 along the border to Myanmar, then R1338, R1130 over Doi Maesalong, and then R1089 to Fang on day 4? Or alternatively spend the night in Tha Ton, more interesting than Fang imo.
Then R107 and R1249 to Doi Angkhang, R1340 and 1178 and R1322 and do the Wiang Haeng loop? Then back to R107 and then 1095 to Pai on day 5?
Then visit the Tam Lod cave and Ban Rak Thai on the road from Pai to Mae Hong Son on day 6?
You can aslo visit Long Neck villages outside MHS at Huay Seua Tao I think it was called(?)
Maybe a rest day in MHS on day 7?
You can also ride to Mae Sariang and continue to Mae Sot, its a great ride down there along R108 and R105 and spend a night in Mae Sot on day 8?
Then on day 9 R1175, R1 and R11 and right back to Chiang Mai?

Just a suggestion, Im sure the experienced guys can come up with many other interesting suggestions....

Thanks for the tips guys

Can't wait till i can do this full time with my own bike and a proper GPS, but these short 2 weekers will have to do for the time being.

I'v got an app to record my trip, so I will be able to note down each day's riding with pics.
