    From R1089 Mae Chan Restaurants

    Mountain View Kitchen
    A gem of a spot

    Roadside
    IMG_9261.

From the outside the looks are a bit deceiving, but inside what a beauty of a sweet little coffee shop / restaurant

    IMG_9263.

    IMG_9265.

    Cool timber - fresh air
    IMG_9264.

Plus there is a nice cool relaxing pond at the back - that is unseen from the road
    IMG_9266.

Simple tasty cheap food, smoothies, coffees
    IMG_9267.

If you're blasting along R1089, Tha Ton - Mae Chan - Chiang Rai, this is THE place to stop for a break.
Location: 10 kms west of Mae Chan / 17 kms east of the Kiu Sataa checkpoint turn too to Doi Mae Salong.
    Highly recommended.

    Another handy stop on R1089
At the Akha village of Kiu Sataa by the police checkpoint

Kio Sa Tai View (Reat area)

A sizeable open air restaurant & coffee shop

Friendly enough service from a happy midget gal + another well endowed Akha gal who will make an impression.

Worth a stop & a cuppa, at a very convenient location.

I've only just "spotted" this post!
It is a nice place. Cool, with friendly service. Well priced.
    I second the recommendation!

The Kio Satai View is in a great location, with mountain valley views at the back.

    The Aman Coffee

A bright smart, modern, clean aircon coffee shop

On R1089, just from 1.5 kms from the 1089 / R1 road junction. On the left side heading towards Tha Ton, away from Mae Chan.

A big premises, with lots of seating.

They also do food & the dishes I saw look quite ok.

If your travelling south from Mae Sai / the GT / Chiang Saen / Chiang Khon to Tha Ton, this is a damn convenient aircon stop on the outward journey.

The Panor Coffee - a magnificent resort style coffee shop.

    Facebook Panor Coffee

A relatively new kid on the block, but the sort of coffee shop that you'd hang out for a while. It's not a splash and dash stop.

A magic spot to hang out for awhile. Good food too.

Location a bit tricky to find the entrance to the soi.
Entrance to the soi is on the north side of R1089 exactly at the corner of the bypass road into Mae Chan.
