We had a stop off at the local fishing hole, they were not catching a darn thing. See the lady with the black scarf on she rides a dragstar and does good at it. We had a newbie on this ride I told him these were normal Issan roads he wasn't impressed  The other guys let him off the hook and told they were not all that bad 8)

Ok this is the Phu Philom park area, really very beautiful. Couple of water falls in the area if you feel like hiking I don't  On clear day you can see all the way to Udon. Great restuarant there nice place or lunch or whatever.

Entrance is fre and there is overnight camping. Ralph had a great idea, to make an ovrenihgt camoping trip. Bring our own cooking gear, between all of us couple of support op pickuops and we caould agve a great weekend. So it's in the thought process. I have camped there before it was fun. Tilets availabl but I dontl remembe showere ebign available, But that was fur years ag thing may have changed a lot since then, They nake improvements all the time.

We want to do it in the dry season, the trick a weekend that doesn't conflict with a bike week. The idea is to include the kids and make it a real family adventure. We have enough pickups amongst us to pull that one off easily. So a cookout and party with overnight camping

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!! glad that is over this one has been a bit frustrating

I have no idea why we stopped normally we just ride off in the sunset but we did. The road comes out on ring road by the Global red light. Must have just been enjoying the group and chatted for awhile.

Well maybe we can get party cookout and camping night at Phu Philom. More then likely that woudl be great fun

Well done Ray, you done it again. The usual good report and loads of photos.
You always seem to catch the good weather as well.

Love to go for a ride with you guys. I'm up that way on New Year so I'll make an effort to join you.

How about you guys meeting up with us at the Chiang Mai Bike Week?

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the report, you do such a good job with many pics that there is little for me to add, except to agree it was a very enjoyable ride, good scenery, good company, good weather, real variety of bikes and riders, and different ideas of suitable riding gear!!, topped off by some great home cooked food.
My good old GPS took me home as I had no idea where the little village we ate at was. It took me on a straight line on small roads to the No 2, near Kumpawapi, the BMW proved an ideal bike for this type of ride, easily coping with the potholed roads, and one unsurfaced road on the way home.

Just for the record, when you post pics on sites like Photobucket, your pictures stay there until you delete them, or on some sites after a period if not viewed, the site deletes them., not sure of Photobucket policy on that one.
You copy the link to your ride report and when somebody views the report, their computer follows the link, goes to the Photobucket site and downloads from there. The photo is never stored on GTR. When viewed the photos are stored on the viewers computer in a temporary internet file, for a while and so it can be quicker to view the reports a second and third time. Depending on the viewers internet settings, the temporary file is cleared every now and then so pics have to be downloaded again. Some naughty boys who do not like people to see what they have been viewing on their computer use settings that clear every day, or even every time they boot up, so they would not store the pics.

I hope that is not totally confusing or too much information.
Cheers, John

Well I learned not to tidy up the photo bucket site on this one. What happens when you delete them from your computer?

I always burn a CD so I don't have so much stored in my computer.

What you guys think about Ralphs camp out idea I think that would be fun and with as much equipement that we have available and tranprt not difficult at all. I have a large portable grill, that could be used fro burgers suasages, amking breakfasts ect. As well as an additional portbale stove we use out side. and the the gas bottles that go with them. I
've made burgers for 70 people on that grill. It will all fit in the pickup and mu neighbor will be happy to dive ti up for us. So think we have what we need.

One pickup or maybe two with one of those rented ice contianers. Thsis all seem very doable to me. If everyone chips in shouldn't be a huge cost to anyone. A great weekend for everyone.

Hi Ray,
The camping trip sounds a great idea. I will post it to my list as soon as you have a date in mind. No point in asking for dates from email list as will end up with 20 different ones.

What you do with the pics on your computer has no effect on the ride report pics on GTR or any other site which uses links to external sites like photobucket.

Thanks I'll start tryign to fidn a weekend that is avialable, That is going to the trick. I will start early on asing so if something is floang around out there that we don''t ow about, We won' mess up the bikes weeks.

Several guys have made offers from the local forum so we should have plenty of support vehicles to get the kid and the equipment there.
