Road 66 From Boeng Mealea Temple In Siem Reap Province To Preah Kharn Temple In Preah Vihear Provinc

Road 66 from Boeng Mealea temple in Siem Reap province to Preah Kharn temple in Preah Vihear province.

Do anyone have info about road 66.
From report I have it is mostly bad dirty road which is OK for XR bike, but not for a Transalp 600.
I wish to know which bike I should take to make Rd 66. For senior driver the Transalp is much more coumfortable.
Do anybody know if today there is guest house near Preah Kharn temple.
My last visit there was about 15 years ago!!

I have a friend who crossed into Cambodia at Sa Ngam and rode down to Siem Reap earlier this year and he said the road was fine. He riding a roadbike btw.
I presume thats the 66 road?

Hi. Rd 66 is paralel to Rd 5, but about 30 North. U can look at the map I put in attach.

I think that map of yours is quite outdated. If you look at Google maps online version you will see that R66 goes from Sa Ngam border/Anlong Veng down to Siem Reap....

And that the road you possibly refer to that goes from a little outside Siem Reap to Stung Treng is R64.

I rode that road in 2015 and it was newly paved and thus in a very good condition. But knowing the quality and the thickness of asphalt material they use in Cambo that can have changed a lot since then.
