Transalp engine

I have a Transalp that I am looking for a newish engine, I thought I'd ask the experts since it is a 400cc what engine andfrom what bike would be a straight swap. I think I have read an engine out of a Honda Bros would be a straight swap and 600/650cc to boot.

The 583 cc engine is also used in choppers. Don't know if they are compatible though. What's wrong with you Transalp's engine? Can you source one in Japan? (Lots of used car engines are sold to the U.S.). Good luck!

Last time I was in Red Baron's used parts warehouse a few months ago they had several 400cc Honda V-twin engines that I think would work. That engine was used in a lot of different Honda models. I've heard the 400cc is basically a sleeved down version of the engine used in such models as the NT650V and NT700V as well as the Hawk GT and Bros. Best of luck!
