Last one for my collection.

1998 VFR800.

It needed a few things sorting (tyres, brakes, indicators, dash, levers) but she now rides really well.

Interesting a CBR300 in Thailand and a CB 500X in USA.
How does the CBR feel like in Thailand, why not a 500X?
Price only, or......?
Only spend 5 months in Thailand every year, before covid. Like the looks of the 300, good price & it takes us everywhere we want to go. Nice to have a smaller bike when riding around Chiang Mai City. The bike is perfect for the back roads, goes as fast as I want to go on the 4 lanes. A little slow on the steep parts on the road to Pai, but we have all day.

Agreed on the smaller is often better.
My best fun times riding here were always on the 125cc bikes.
Outrageous fun.
I find with a bigger bike your travel a lot faster, cover more kms looking at the road, and don't necessarily see a lot more apart from watching the tarmac. 70-80-90KPH is a nice speed if you want see things.

This is one of the bikes I really wanted when I moved to Thailand in 2008. I had to sell my Suzuki DR650 and Triumph Rocket III when I left Hawaii. So since they finally sell it here I could not resist adding it to my collection. Only got 350 kms on it so far but love it.View attachment 143841View attachment 143842
Wow, Did You have it on the Memorial Ride? I would love to take a look at it? Great value for Money.

Yes. I did the MHS Loop and the Golden Triangle on a Honda on a PCX. I thought I would hate the trip, but it turned out to be fun. I enjoyed more of the scenery on those days.

Where did You get the Rally Lights for Your 300? Are they off the Old Honda Baja?
Hey Ian, I got them from OneHandMade (can be found of Facebook) from Taiwan. Excellent quality and fit. I see someone is making them in Thailand too, but I think they need to go back to welding school. OneHandMade (really only has full use of one hand) can really lay down a "row of dimes" with a TIG welder. Some of his creations are gorgeous one-off bikes.

I've been back on a scooter since my bike crash, waiting for the leg to recover.
