Wiang Mok is 31 south west from Chiang Khong
An "ex" Chinese KMT village, I was expecting something a bit like Doi Mae Salong, or Bang Yang west of Fang.
& what I saw as I rocked up
The road in
It's definitely a Christian town
A few Chinese Houses
A Chinese temple on a hill
I never quite worked out the specific use for bbq above
And then there were the Akha!
Yes Akha, I was very surprised to find Akha settled here.
What they doing?
Making brooms.
Yes siree Wiang Mok would appear to be broom central
The Akha broom shed
where all the very happy Akha workers hang out.....making brooms.
The broom handle makers
Tying them up
Check it out sometime. 31 kms south west of Chiang Khong.
Take R1020 south.
Turn right onto R1174, at the Thung Ngiw traffic, lights 7 kms from town.
Follow R1174 for 21 kms, then turn right under the archway with Chinese signs & follow the concrete in 3.2 kms.
