P.S. it come's in Red or White ...
Where's Bowin?

Just scoped one in CM for 134k - for that price it includes registration, mandatory insurance, and accident insurance - all in all not too far off of your price.

Price was 134,900 Baht.
This is a Promotion Price which lasts for 15 Days He claimed after that time the Price will go up 5000 Baht to 139,900 Baht.
I hope you don't believe everything salespeople tell you :D

That's still quite a bit cheaper than the KLX - I'd say the tires would be the first thing to go, way too knobby for my taste...

Who's gonna be the first proud owner to post a photo of his bike here?

Congratulations! A new bike is like a new life, I always say.

Whoa, that was quick! Thought it would take at least another week

What's your overall first impression on build/parts quality? How does it feel, like a 90/10 dirt bike or more like a streetbike with some off-road capability?

The hand protectors aren't stock, are they?

Right, I just found that thread - I moved to Songkhla on the first and have no internet yet so I'm not up to date!

Seems like the CRF is worth the price of admission!

Guess this thread may be closed. Thanks for posting your first impression and photos!

Thanks to Grant I finally did find a Honda dealer in KK that has the CRF for show and sale. Must say I like the white one more.
Looks like a nice bike and for a good price .... I reconfiremd at the sales lady that what she said was correct .... 129.950thb incl. all insurance, tax and license-plate / green book. Looks like they want to piss off the Kawa dealer.

As the bike standard is a it too high for me I had thinking of just putting smaller wheels on it but I also saw that it is probably very easy to lower the rear suspension. Has anyone took a look at that and thinks the same as me?

Try out the bike first! I remember being surprised at the height of my XR650L when I got it but after a week I was used to it and enjoyed it the way it was.
Can't imagine Honda building a beginner's 250 which is too high...

DirtShop put a new Honda CRF250L on their dyno and the rwhp of 17.95 is quite a bit less than expected...

Could be due to improper set up of the dyno or because the bike hasn't been properly run in yet.

We'll have to wait and see if other dynos give similar results.

Happy Trails! :happy2:

Must have been reading in KW:

kilowatt to horsepower (kW to HP): HP = 1.34102209 × kW

17.95 x 1.34 = 24 hp. Not bad! :)

Seriuosly though, I doubt that is correct and if it is the CRF still goes better than a KLX. Guys have jumped from a KLX with pipe, filter and modded ECU and the CRF was still faster.

A week ago I asked at the local dealer and they had no idea what I was talking about. Today I drove by and saw the CRF in the window!

So now it's available in Songkhla, too. 135,000 THB, I was told. Bike looks good, especially the rear swing arm and the forks. The welds are clean, too. The plastic didn't really fit 100%, not like other Honda products, but that's nitpicking. They didn't even wipe the black grease finger prints off the white parts after assembly!

In Khon Kaen there is now only 1 dealer that has the CRF250 (as far as I know) and they insist on a selling price of 130k incl. license-plate/greenbook, tax and first class insurance. And delivery is done in 1hr. They have 2 in the showroom.

Good to know that some dealers sell them for 130K. Maybe I offer 130 and if they don't sell it for that I walk out.

Spoke to Khun Bai at Dirtshop today, he said their Dyno is set up to display rwHP, not kW.

Yeah, I was kidding....I had a close look at the right hand column and it reads in PS which = HP.

Pity you didn't ask him more about it and the perceived discrepancy, a few of us here would like to know....

On yer bike then :)

Greetings to all. I hope this helps to clear up confusion over engine power of CRF250L. Honda has tuned the CRF engine differently to that of the CBR so nothing wrong with dyno or tester. Apologies if previously posted - This from Honda Worldwide:
[h=3]
ttl_engine.gif
[/h]
The CRF250L' s engine is based on a well-reputed liquid-cooled 250 cc single-cylinder DOHC engine, developed as a global engine transcending regions and known for being sporty yet eco-friendly while pointing the way to the next generation. The CRF250L version of this global engine aims for output characteristics that can be handled with ease both on and off road and deliver a fun ride. This new engine is designed to be lightweight and compact with smooth turnover, not just in the low- to mid-rpm ranges but also the high rpm range.

[h=4]
sttl_output.gif
[/h]To give the rider easy control of the machine.even off road.while improving full traction performance, the development team pursued powerful torque with no "dip" in the low rpm range.
Furthermore, given the agile feel of a liquid-cooled DOHC engine, the model realizes the ideal response for an on/off-road model while maintaining a short stroke (bore-stroke ratio: .76 mm x 55 mm) in the base engine.
To realize output characteristics that are stress-free and smooth from low rpm to high, the CRF250L developers conducted a thorough analysis of the air intake/exhaust system, which allowed them to select the ideal dimensions for the intake/exhaust pipe diameter, pipe length, and throttle bore. Moreover, the quest for reduced air flow resistance led to an optimal shape and placement of the air cleaner element and its routes to the straight intake/exhaust ports and exhaust pipe.

To achieve a fun, easy-to-handle ride, an exclusively designed clutch transmits the machine' s powerful torque characteristics thoroughly and smoothly.
Exclusive designs are also added in other sections, including transmission with improved strength of gears to meet the demands of rough off-road riding.
The relief valve is set to control the pressure inside the oil passage, and an internal relief structure has been adopted inside the oil pump to prevent the aeration of relieved oil.

No i an still confused dos all that mean that the CRF250L is only putting out 17.95 hp ? if so thats nothing to brag about, shameful really for a 250 cc bike.

18 horses?? You have to be kidding!! My 20 year old AX1 had more power than that!

Please tell me this is a mistake...

The CBR is no powerhouse by a long shot - to neuter that engine even more is an insult.

Disappointing. :(
