It's been a few years since I was in Thoed Thai for Shan New Year due to covid.
The main parade used to gather & start from a field and was scheduled for 5pm.
Hoping to get some early photos before the crowd Steve & I checked out the starting point at 2.30PM to see nothing happening.
Oops we're far too early, so back to the GH for another power nap.
The old disabled fellah oversleeps and at 5PM it's a race back to the starting point, where again there;s nothing going on. That's a bit odd we think?
Then we see lines of people in full costume powering on up the road & turning into another soi.
Let's follow them & see what's going on.
And yep, they;re all there. We were in the wrong location! The new starting point is more discrete, but also much bigger, and the crowd is all there lined up ready to go. Lucky we were....

With the crowd all lined up ready to move it was not really possible to get the closeup individual character photos I like to get, so it was abit of a rush to race along & get group pics of all the different villages groups, ready & raring to go.
However, Steve & I did enjoy ourselves & the colourful spectacle.

As the parade got underway & started to leave the field, everyone went off at a fast pace & I was under pressure hobbling along trying to get a few snaps.

It was one of the friendliest, happy parades I've seen for awhile.
