To follow the last trip report I posted. I found another one, back in 2006. I took my friend Remy, who had been leaving France for the first time in his life to visit me, on a little adventure
. We rented 2 Honda XR 250 in Phnom Penh and did the loop PP>Kep>Kampot>Bokor hill station>Sihanoukville>PP. One night in Kep, one night in Bokor and one night in Sihanoukville...
On the road from PP to Kep...
The next morning on the road from Kep to Bokor Hill station. Ok you might be wondering what is that thing on my eye... Actually we were wearing off-road helmets without visors and the evening before, one stupid moscito came right into my eye. I took it off but unfortunatly (this I saw it only when we went back to PP), its leg was stuck under my eyelid. So it was not really painfull but really itchy and annoying, I found a pharmacy in Kep the next morning which gave me some medecine and bandages. To not ruin the holiday of my friend I decided to live with it until we would get back to PP. So I did the rest of the trip with one eye...
On the way up to Bokor...
Overview of Bokor Hill station on arrival. For those who don't know about this place, it was a built in 1920s as a luxury resort for the colonial French settlers during Indochina. Its been used until late 1940s mainly as an escape from the heat, humidity and wildiness of Phnom Penh.
The next morning. The night before some guards of the national park took us with some local booze to experience the old palace and casino by night...
Bokor Grand Palace Hotel & Casino...
A small temple around there...
Some waterfalls on the way down...
At that moment, I was behind my friend about 150m and I started to see funny stuff on the track... he forgot to close his bag after the waterfall... his wallet, dead mobile phone, belongings in the bag were spread away on the track... we spent some time collecting all the pieces back...
The way down from Bokor...
On the road from Bokor to Sihanoukville...
Sihanoukville...
On the way from Sihanoukville to PP...
Last pit stop before PP...
