If you need a locksmith to pick an ignition & cut a new key, the shop above is highly recommended.
Located opposite the Chiang Khong hospital and at the front of a specs shop.

Excellent friendly efficient service.
The chang came to the house within 15minutes and immediately set to work picking the lock and cutting a new key on the spot.

Once he had worked out the code, he simply cut new keys automatically with a trick automated key cutter.

The moral of the story is don't stupidly lock your keys under the seat, because you may have wasted hours searching the house multiple times, over 36 hours, before you realise the absurd solution.

The price 650 baht for an emergency call out.

And if dad says cut an extra set of keys, don't use Thai logic, to say no you have a spare set of keys in your house 300 kms away. That doesn't work.

Interestingly, this was on New Year's Day and the chang said he had multiple lost key jobs already on the day.

He has also done multiple jobs at the FB4 bridge for people who have parked their cars and lost their keys in Laos.
The automated portable key cutter machine he has is a beauty and works a charm, once he has worked out the key code.
Highly recommended for spare keys. Who carries a spare set hidden on the bike??
