Dangerous Road ?

My copy of Golden Triangle map dated 2015
Lists secondary road North of Doi Ang Khang around Mae Mao Dam and onward to Mae Ai as Restricted Area - Dangerous Road.
Is travel restricted on this route ?

I dont think they will let you up there going from the south side.
There's a checkpoint near the bottom, so you won't get far, so you dont have far to turn back.
If you come in from the top north side might be a better chance I reckon. If they turn you back, you've at least had a good spectacular ride.

Let us know how you go, because it's a while since we've had an update on that one.

I tried to ride that border road a few months ago coming from the Fang side, but I was stopped and told to turn around at the checkpoint point just beyond the town of Nong Tao. Big army presence at that checkpoint.
It was a spectacular road to that point. You see nobody out there.

Thanks Rex. May try from the 1314 end and head South. Or turn North before Nong Tao towards the dam.
