Surprise (not really) about 15 people total turned up - so another good night, but I don't think there were any photos this time round.

It looks like Franco-Thai is a popular place to go with plenty of space, lots of seating, relaxed atmosphere, good service (most of the time) & a convenient central location for most people; so lets keep this for a monthly rendezvous spot for awhile.

The next date & future dates will be proposed by John Gooding who is a lot more organized & capable to planning further ahead than I.

Good on you & thanks John.

Happy to pick up on this one.
Seems that Friday night is a good one as it allows the Bangkok and other guys who come up here for weekend rides to join.
Proposing the next dinner is held on Friday 28th September. Hopefully to celebrate the end of the wet season and allow some trip planning.
Anyone who has a reason for making it one week earlier or later, please post during the coming week and depending on response we can firm up the date.

Apologies for any confusion caused by the date of the 27th on the UPCOMING EVENTS section on the RHS of the Forum web page.
Apparently this date is always set one day before the event to give notice. I am told this cannot easily be altered, so please be aware.
If you click on the link in the UPCOMING EVENTS section it will lead you to the calendar entry with the correct date of 28th September.

The display of UPCOMING EVENTS on the front page has been disabled for now to avoid the above confusion. The calendar is still active and accessed from the title menu.

About 10 people attended the last dinner and enjoyed the food and company. Heavy rain just before and another clashing event probably limited the numbers. Anyone with any other photos please do post. I only have a couple taken by the ladies who always enjoy photographing each other.

Dates for future dinners were discussed and the following October event was mentioned and suggested some may enjoy attending.

This event is on both 26th and 27th October. Bearing this in mind, we decided not to hold another dinner in October.
November has the memorial ride via Doi Inthanon to Mae Hong Son which includes the second International Music Night in MHS. This is on Saturday 10th November.
So would be good to meet for next dinner on FRIDAY 2nd NOVEMBER, as before at Franco Thai from 7pm. Will allow folks to plan for the memorial ride and Music Night.

I will post a reminder nearer the time.

A few pictures to record another pleasant dinner at Franco-Thai. Good to welcome back two Colins; a slimmed down Captain Slash, about to depart on his usual routine of travel, and Captain Wally, who has just purchased a Versys.

Good food and conversation. Please note that the ladies like to pose with whichever 'hansum man' is nearest, so the partnerships pictured are for decorative purposes only.
David U, could not attend this one as he was still on his way back from Laos, but will be back for the memorial ride and upcoming International Music Night in Mae Hong Son. Looks like that will be a well attended and fun event. Maybe warm clothes will be needed for the evening, rather than the raincoats needed last time.
Euro diner has opened an upstairs dining room, which should be a good place for our next dinner, date to be announced shortly

Eurodiner's upstairs room is free on Friday 30th November, so lets go for it.

Next dinner FRIDAY 30th NOVEMBER 7pm at Eurodiner

Will then leave it with the GT-Rider himself, David U, to find a suitable date for a combined Christmas/Year End/New Year GT-Rider Dinner. Not easy with a busy calendar, but maybe best done sooner rather than later.

Just a reminder that this is only 5 days away now. Hope to see you there.

Here is another one who also plan to be there, left Ban Phe this morning and is now spending the night
somewhere in the middle of nowhere a bit north of Tak Fa along road #11.

Well the Xmas /New Year mayhem is quietening down a little & I can see ahead a bit.
So what about a dinner get together at Franco Thai on Friday 25th January, starting at 7 or 7.30 PM? (I personally prefer the later 7.30 PM start, but up to you guys...)

Sounds perfect to me as on a Friday evening, will also be accompanied by my 72 year old mother if the doctors don't give her a "no-go" for health reasons. Looking forward to some tasty food again. Rgds, FR
