Nor Lae road

About 2 months ago I rode up to Doi Ang Khang and on to Ban Nor Lae but was stop from heading further north by an army checkpoint on the outside of village.

I think I recall at least one landslide point, but the roads were well open at the time of my visit.

I will return again soon to stop longer in Ban Nor Lae, as I hope to engage in conversation with the Dara-ang (Palaung) ethnic group there.

I doubled back and dropped down into Angkhang Royal Agricultural Station and on to a nice coffee stop Angkhang Baansuan อ่างขางบ้านสวน and then on to a magnificent viewing point at the army fortress here

The Agricultural Station road gets closed around dusk and opens around dawn, by the army, it seems.

Here's views from the fortress linked above.

That border area has become even more sensitive with the flood of drug busts out that way this year.
Yes indeed! I'm rounding corners along this border region and countersteering around army troops loading bailed bundles into pickup trucks. I kid you not. The army are as surprised to see me as I, them.
