Decided to get off the island for a ride and just go...wherever...no plan...
Once i got started i thought I'd just ride and shoot..on the fly...and post whatever came up...
First off the warm up lap next to home...
We've had a lot of rain lately and its washed the haze away...awesome views into Phang Nga Bay

Nice one mate. Good to see you out riding & enjoying the fresh clean air. We guys in the North are envious.

So did you drop the bike or not - what's the body, gear & bike damage?
Whatever hope you are all ok.

How long have you had the 76CSX & the Vapour gauge?

My 76CSX arrived in the mail a couple of weeks ago & I'm looking forward to setting it up with my maps once Auke arrives back in town.

I've got the Trailtech Vector gauge which is ok too, but I thought I was getting the Vapour. However RH obtained Vector's instead. Do you like the gauge & find it really useful, or is it just another smart accessory to have on your bike? With the Vector I'm inclined to the "smart accessory" view.

Thanks for the contribution from down south.

Hey Dave,
Finally someone noticed...we're that far down the forum !

Ok mine is a 76Cx- the non colour version , actually f%#@Ked up on the ride, the small spring for the battery broke. Tin foil to the rescue ! Other wise great, mine has actually been under water when my boat almost sank...and that was seawater , so proves their waterproof claims.
The vapour is good but very temperamental with stator power, haven't figured that out yet. Put in a new battery and stillhasn't solved the problem, keeps cutting out at high revs- means you lose all settings...frustrating !

as to the crash...yes, down I went....barkbuster grazed quite badly but other wise my arm and elbow and leg took the hit....had just undone the sleeves on my jacket as it was bloody hot....jacket just slid up my arm and skin and concrete met...ow !
Boot lost all buckles....shopping time :D
I have bars on the bike to carry soft luggage and that seems to work well for dropping the bike...

trying to keep it upright !

Not bad pics dude.....bummer I was busy that day.
Looked like a good day to unclip the dog of his chain for a run.....pity about the off......thin layer of sand on concrete ..... nothing surer to guarantee white knuckles and the kiss of death !!!!!!

Don't Worry Mate, I am Sure everyone is Reading Your Posts, just unless they have something Sarcastic or Totally Unrelated to Say No one Replies  Great Post and Photo's By the way! Motards can be less than Forgiving on Tricky Surfaces  Lucky it Wasn't a New F800GS that went down  For the Hand Guards Use some Wet n Dry Sandpaper to Smooth out the Gravel Rash, If it has Black Writing on it Write the Labeling again Carefully with a Permanent Marker (may have to make a Stencil if you are a little unsteady) Yours is White so Doubt You can get a White Permanent Marker? and then Spray it with "Waxy" or "Truco Shine" Good as New

Great photos and write up man! Sorry I missed it. I am in town next weekend, lets put a run together. Ranong?? Nackers, you in?? I need to put some miles on the XR before the rain comes.
Glad to hear it was just the kit and a bit of skin that took the brunt of the slider.
I'll give you a shout when I get back on the island on Wed. Keep it rubber side down till I get there.
Cheers!
S.

Nice post & Picx,,,i was down there long time ago, but love to riding there.

Only thing is what i find odd is the check point building when entering the island, it's like coming to "other country" i wonder why they check iD's and stop cars so often in there?

i love the back road from Patong via Kamala to airport,, nice snaky road but those dudes drive like crasy there with they pick's and bikes.

love your different colour variation pictures
