I am very much looking forward to visiting this market, but I'm busy now with tax return, changing fork oil and routine maintenance. Its looking like either early November or the New Year before I can get there. The next three months are full of fantastic Northern Thailand events, gatherings and fesrivals.

R1155 Phu Chi Fah Talad Nut

A new one, on Saturday's at the Charoensuk Resort, by the army checkpoint.

After a night in Wiang Kaen to shorten the journey, I made a foggy damp dash long R1155 to the Hmong talad nut, exactly at the army checkpoint / turn off to Phu Chi Fah.

I was highly impressed by the size of the market - it was massive, popular and stretched a considerable distance along both sides of the road.

Not long after this pic above I was laboring up the Big Dipper & overtook a young Hmong gal with 2 kids the same, on her scooter.
I always amazes me how good and at ease the locals are riding their bikes in the mountains.

The sensational Hmong gal of the day.

She spoke fluent English, just back a month from 10 years in the USA, and off to Australia at the end of the year to work as a nanny.

You can meet some amazing people travelling through this area, take your time to chat and you will find lots of villagers have relatives or siblings, overseas making good money. They all have a good story to tell.

75 minutes later I was sipping coffee in the cool air of PCF watching the sea of fog clear.

THe 3 gals in the photo above are from MFL uni in Chiang Rai.
Their first time at PCF, they left MFL at 4am to ride up for the night & the sea of fog.
I spotted them, taking selfies, on the way up from the market.
They were 3-up on a scooter & no helmets!
I pleaded with them to be extremely careful descending, dont' run out of brakes & crash!
It maybe best to follow R1093 south to Chiang Kham, & then home to MFL tomorrow.
Pretty please.
