As I'm struggling with mobility, transport & stamina resulting from my crash 5 months ago I will have to miss put on organizing GTR Up Country Dinners for awhile.
However what about a pre Christmas dinner @ Takhong the sunset resort on the Mekong?

I can get to Takhong myself by scooter

The proposed date is Wednesday 14th December, before the Chrismas rush starts.
If we have sufficient numbers I will arrange for some music - a singer & guitarist - from Chiang Rai, to entertain us.

So, if riders are interested to come, please confirm, YES I'm in.
Then I can proceed.

I like the idea. I can't seem to find the restaurant resort. Do you have a link David?

Ok lets do it for Wednesday 14th December.

The accommodation situation.

Takhong has houses - bungalows & tents
The have 2 rooms, downstairs & upstairs, with separate bathrooms
The normal high season price is 4 houses @ 2500. 3500. 3000.
3 have 2 rooms. For GTR on the 14th they will do the rooms for 1300 each.
The 4 tents @ 1400 each. On the the 14th they will do them for 1200 baht each.

Had Bai Resort has 9 rooms & 800 baht each.

If anyone wants to take their own tent to camp at Takhong it can be arranged.
If there is a shortage of rooms @ the Had Bai Resort, both myself & son Jason can stay in Chiang Khong.

If we get 10 people, I will engage the singer Eve to come sing with Mr Smooth on guitar.
Eve has a wonderful voice & a lovely personality.

This will be a special night @ Takhong.
The sunset view last night Wednesday 30 November.

The night carried on fast, such that we ended up being the last customers, the staff checked the bill & left the GTR crew to continue on chatting into the night.

It was a truly magic relaxing night.
Thanks to the guys who came, Luca & his missus, Jason, Andy & Gary the newbie.
Gary I trust you enjoyed yourself & will continue to come along to GTR events.

Thanks Luca & Andy for the photos.

The team of 4 staying @ the Had Bai resort had a leisurely rise the next morning & took a meander upstream to the Flow for some morning delight

Some indulgence with the Almond & Rasberry Croissant. The best croissants in the North?

Jason & I made the most of the occasion with a Flow full English brekky
