I hope so.
In the meantime perhaps we can get around to putting our own Terra Mostro together.

My wife is about to buy a bigger bike but I dont think the new monster 695 seat is low enough for her , at the moment favourite is HD sporster for low seat height or a customised honda shadow 600, she really likes the 695t and also the Kawa ER 6 but thats way too tall for a 1.45m tall person

I'm looking forward to seeing the final video -if it is ever released- but this clip must have been staged, as having two cameras teams that just "happen" to be in the cop car and outside is stretching credulity. Mind you Jeff Jensen was riding & the racing with a broken leg.
Nice find though - thanks.

Can't really see that happening unless steel tanks are cheaper.

Anyway, looks like we'll be seeing Ducati dealers in both Pattaya and Hua Hin in the not too distant future.

A ducati executive was cross examined during the case in USA and actually addmitted that steel tanks were a bit cheaper and more reliable in hindsight but plastic was 760g lighter and thats why they decided to use plastic ,

Great find, thanks!!

While of course good price compared to their other bikes, I am still a little disappointed - I'd hoped for around 360 - 370 without ABS. Guess there's so much demand they decided to kind of take advantage of it...U.S. MSRP for the 796 is 10k USD or 300k baht, and the 795 is supposed to be the "cheaper version" of the 796. Yeah OK I'll stop complaining now ;)

Pretty easy to lower most motorcycles... 66cm is 26 inches. Did you marry a munchkin? ;)

Sure it was a SF 848? I heard that they will arrive Thailand only in Feb 2012.

Nicky , the display said 848 but the bike might have been the 1098 version ....I did not look to closely as I have ridden SF 1098 and its wicked but i think the 848 will be a more balanced everyday ride ,I really like them, i dont know who organised the display, might have been part of the Formula 1 promotion thing.

I inquired about this with Jay the DUC mech. He said the only way they would have had an 848 SF in Pattaya is if they flew it in from the USA or EU just for the display. It is available in the USA now he said.

If you were among the first to get your SF 848 order in you will get your 848 in January (Feb for Black). If you walk in to order today, the sales guy told me you will get your bike around April. The first 1199 won't be in Thailand until April, and they have plenty of orders for that bike already.

There are some 795's at the Thonglor shop now. I would show you a picture if it was simple to insert one.

It is easy if the picture is on your computer just press the reply button, position the cursor where you want the picture, then press the icon 3 rd one from the rhs, just left of the video filmstrip icon. Then you just select from your computer, and browse to your image, select and upload. This does not work from Safari on my IPad, but works fine with Firefox.

I am using IE, so I am only getting the option to post a URL. Thanks though.

I was talking to Jay down at the Ducati shop today. He told me that it takes the factory only 45 minutes to assemble one of these 795's. He also told me they are going to be opening another shop soon on Rama III. The first lot of 40 for Thailand sold like hotcakes, and seeing that today's BKK Post had a Ducati Monster ad on 1/4 of it's front page today, I am sure they will be selling a ton more.

I also heard from a guy who got a tour of the factory down there that they only have women working there. I am hoping to get a tour myself, so I will have to confirm that one.

Well if you waited too long to order your 795, you have plenty of time to keep on thinking about it. They have sold/have orders for over 200 and counting (2-3 ordered daily). If you order one today, you will have to wait until JUNE to get it.
