Theres plenty if accommodation now in Phayao catering all tastes and price classes:
I will stay at the Phuklong as the newest place there.
As for having dinner/beers/fun i recommend we either consider the rooftop Pheun or the big Saengchan places. Both have life music at least during weekends.

NORTHERN LAKE
Not my regular place of stay in Phayao, the Phu Tong Place, because it & 2 other places were full on the night. (A concert in Phayao, unbeknown to us dumb farang.)
Anyway for 500 baht not bad..(but I still prefer the Phu Tong)......

1. Phu Thong Place for accommodation. 500 baht a night with brekky / 400 without. Excellent value for money.
2. Krua Thep Pub & Restaurant for great 70s-80s pop-rock music. Good food, staff & service.
3. Lakeview Pub. Good atmosphere & nice jazzy Thai music. Brilliant young lead guitarist & singer Mr Bird with the band Talents. They've also got a little 4 foot nothing female singer Floyd, (as in Pink Floyd.) Highly recommended for a cool night out.

The crowd at the Lakeview is younger student orientated...

Franz let me know what kind of food you have in mind. Do you want noisy music or quiet relaxed? Then I can suggest some places and hotels within walking distance. I.E Stay at Cosy Nest 675B, Sundowners at Pheun Rooftop View(350metres) then supper at Ai Wa Guan (back 140metres)

Jen-ko-house Cafe is a bit quieter and a tad more up market but not super close to the lake so 1.2km from Rooftop and further to stagger home.

Hello Mike, booked already a room at the Phuglong as always, stayed there last night and went at around 19:00 to the Pheun which was already fully packed, got last small table there. As for food, Thai of course let's follow your recommendation and i put that one up then. As i am "dont drink & drive" i prefer walking distances or just up and down lakeside road.
I am just looking up on how to turn PM on but if it is just FB or wotsabb then i must pass as not using that crap, neither X nor IG nor Dingdong 555555. I am oldfashioned.....
