Savannakhet Accommodation

  1. I stayed at the Souannavong Guest House, 152 Sandna Rd, Savannakhet. T: (041) 212 600, (020) 544 0405.

It was also 50,000 kip and came with air con, big comfy bed, hot shower and cable tv. I can recommend it, it isn't flashy but it is clean and comfy. Be wary though, the upstairs double (same price) is not as nice as the downstairs double.

Make sure you head down to the river for a sunset beer at the floating restaurant.

I can also recommend the garlic and chilli fried crickets. Great for snacking with a beer.

  3. Date visited : November 2012

We did stay at "Dao Savan Resort & Spa" at the riverside of Savanakhet. It is probably the most upscale place to stay in Savan (after the casino).
Rooms are good and comfortable but actually not worth their price of 2000thb (incl. and shitty breakfast).
But you have a good parking for your motorbike and an swimming pool.

Earlier I did stay at "Sala Savan" in an old French colonial house in the historic area of Savan. Room & bathroom are huge but old and not really clean. The rooms have airco.

  4. Hi David, you have come up in the world, remember this hotel we stayed at back in 2004? It had mirrors on the ceiling/

    Cheers
