Phayaprai - Ethnic New Year - Tea Festival

Phayaprai out on the Myanmar border from Thoed Thai has a big New Year Hill tribe Festival next month @ Chinese New Year

The dates 26-30 January 2020.

Out that way towards Hua Mae Kham & Phayaprai, there are Lahu, Lisu, Hmong, Akha & Chinese villages; & they should be celebrating new year.

Chinese New Year 2020 starts on 25 January 25th, 2020, and ends on February 4th.

Chinese New Year is not a public holiday in Thailand, except in Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Satun provinces only. Also called “Lunar New Year” or “Spring Festival”, this holiday is the first day of the year on the Chinese Calendar. It falls somewhere from late January to mid-February on the Gregorian Calendar.​

We could assume there is a grand opening - 26 is a sunday. opening after lunch?

There's only one road to Phayaprai, so if it was me, I'd just follow all the cars & you should end up nearby the right place, find a parking spot & then walk a short distance.

oh we know this area since 30 years like our pocket haha - there are other ways too - secret! ;-)
we will find it will report after the festival!

Amazing just picked up on some photos of the 2022 event.
Let's look out for the 2023 event, for this year's see was event # 9.

The 2022 event was on the 3rd weekend of December.
Will the 2023 event be on the 3rd weekend of December 2023, 15-16-17 December?
